Healthy Heart Service

At Crest Pharmacy in West Midlands, our Heart Health Service measures your blood pressure and calculates your level of cholesterol (by taking a small finger-prick blood sample) to evaluate your risk level of contracting certain heart-related conditions. Following the finger-prick blood test, our pharmacists will discuss and generate a plan to help you implement various actions you can take to improve and control aspects of your health. If needed, we will be signposting you to the other services that we offer in order to fully support you. Your GP will be contacted if necessary.

Lifestyle choices that impact blood pressure

There are various lifestyle choices that can have a major impact on your blood pressure, such as:

– Overconsumption of salt or processed foods
– Unhealthy eating habits
– Overweight
– Lack of exercise
– Smoking
– Drinking too much alcohol or caffeine

Get Tested in Our Clinic or at Home

This test includes checks that have been shown to be very important indicators of risks to your heart’s health. Including a full cholesterol profile and tests for inflammation.

You can get tested by us in our clinic, or you can purchase a home test kit to test at home at your own convenience.

If you choose to book an in-clinic appointment with Crest Pharmacy, our trained phlebotomist will take your blood sample at your chosen clinic.

About the test
