While the shingles rash commonly appears on the chest and abdomen, it can manifest anywhere on the body, including the face, eyes, and genitals. Notably, the rash presents as blotches on the skin, usually affecting only one side of the body. If a rash appears on both the left and right sides simultaneously, it is unlikely to be shingles.
