If you can't find the answer you're looking for, our clinical team is always on hand to provide expert guidance via a quick phone call or in-store chat. We regularly update these questions to ensure you have the most current information regarding our evolving range of diagnostic services and health products.
For the most accurate results, you must collect your sample before 10:00 am. Testosterone levels are at their highest in the morning and naturally fluctuate throughout the day. Taking the sample early ensures we get a true representation of your peak hormonal output.
While not strictly required for a standalone testosterone test, we recommend taking the sample on an empty stomach (water only) to avoid any dietary interference with your protein levels (Albumin), which are used to calculate your Free Testosterone.
The kit includes two lancets just in case. To help the blood flow, we recommend staying very well hydrated the day before, taking the test after a warm shower, and gently swinging your arm to increase circulation before pricking your finger.
Once you post your sample using the pre-paid envelope, it is fast-tracked to our UKAS-certified laboratory. You will typically receive your results and a digital report via your secure online dashboard within 48 to 72 hours of the lab receiving the sample.
This is where the Crest Pharmacy service differs from standard tests. If your results indicate a deficiency, you will be invited for a consultation with our Pharmacist Independent Prescriber. They will review your symptoms alongside your data to confirm if you are suitable for a bespoke TRT treatment plan.
Clinical guidelines usually require two separate blood tests confirming low levels before starting treatment. This initial test is the "screening" phase; if it shows low levels, our pharmacist will guide you on the next steps to confirm the diagnosis and begin your plan.
Yes. We understand that hormonal health is a private matter. Your kit will arrive in plain, unbranded packaging that does not mention "Testosterone" or "TRT" on the outside.
